In the past, students carried books to and from their classes. They carried heavy books, while students in this generation can carry hundreds of books in a single e-book. The debate of whether the traditional paper books be replaced by E-books is already on trend. Not everybody likes the advancement of the technology, since most people is unable to afford the cost of e-book. People are uncertain of this technological advancement. Yes, E-books are fast and efficient, have a lot of storage and Is very convenient, they are able to store hundreds of books which can be downloaded instantaneously and they are also a key to a healthier environment.
But, Traditional Paper Books have its own advantages. First, it’s convenience. You can always bring a book anywhere you go. Like going to the beach, restaurants, and outings without charging it all the time and checking if it still has a battery left. Second, a book is a single-tasking device. There is limited things that can be done while reading a book. Meaning, that book can help you focus on one thing and not distract you from Facebook, Twitter and etc. It provides us the best possible reading experience.
If we replace the Traditional paper books over the E-books then, there wouldn’t be librarians and bookshops and so less jobs. Imagine if you’re reading from an E-book then all of a sudden it shuts down because of the battery and other technical problems. Wouldn’t it be so annoying? Most schools can’t afford to change to e-books especially public schools.
The e-books lacks soul. Would you prefer to go on a date via webcam and Skype, or face to face in a restaurant. Traditional Books resembles the knowledge of how we overcome the ignorance of the past and survive to this age. Maybe in the future E-books might replace the traditional books. But it’s never too late to appreciate and see the true value of the Traditional Books.
Maybe if you have the time bro, adjust the size of your pictures. But nice topic
ReplyDeleteI agree to what you said that E-books lack soul. Unlike E-books, traditional books won't run out of battery. They also give an emphasis on what the book is all about.
ReplyDeleteTraditional books are still better than e-books and Tommy is right about how traditional books won't run out of battery. A real book and an e-book are both convenient anyway. Plus, traditional books are cheaper.
ReplyDeleteTraditional books are what I grew up with, and accepting theme fading away is like saying goodbye to my mom. Traditional books shouldn't be replaced :)
